The Blue Heart Foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on underserved youth ages 13-19 in the greater San Diego County community.
As a part of our program, participants receive mentoring, personal and professional development workshops. This includes college campus tours along with team building and recreational road trips supervised by qualified mentors. Students will be given the “tools” to succeed and excel in today’s academic and social environment. Parents do not pay for these services and “Through Higher Education And Rising Together” we believe all students can succeed
The Blue Heart Foundation is an official partner of the President’s Volunteer Service Award organizations. President’s Volunteer Service Award organizations deliver the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to our nation’s volunteers. As a participant with the PVSA, we award volunteers with one of the nation’s highest honors – presidential recognition.
As part of our commitment to local students, we have established a formal partnership with San Diego State University for use of office/ boardroom facilities. We also have volunteers from local universities and professionals in a variety of fields that will serve as advisors, role models, advocates and life coaches.
Members of HEART regularly receive awards for academic excellence with minimum GPA’s of 3.0 and above. These dedicated, service minded young men are provided assistance in any and every way possible ensure they go on to four year universities, graduate and go on to serve their communities. We currently boast a 100% college acceptance rate
HEART creates a holistic approach to changing lives whether our youth know it or not. We attempt to nurture the whole person intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually. This holistic approach is not just about the individual experience, but also about the communal experience. We truly believe that Together We Will RISE!!!
Culturally enriching field trips matter. They produce significant benefits for students on a variety of educational outcomes that schools and communities care about. The effects of field trips to see live theater demonstrates that seeing plays is an effective way to teach academic content; increases our youth’s tolerance by providing exposure to a a more diverse world
H.E.A.R.T. has been designed with one goal in mind: to help our students plan their future. With assessment tools (CSU Mentor), occupation profile and guidance, and comprehensive post-secondary education information, students move seamlessly through the academic and career planning process.
